This school is run by totalitarian dirt bags who think that they are doing what is right but in reality is hurting the schools reputation for generations to come. I attended this school all my 4 years and I saw this school fall apart in my very poor eyes. The administrators are absolute worse and they scared off one the best teachers and counselors. This school has hope with the wrong leaders, I bet LAUSD doesn't even know this school exists and was the first High school in LA but then again, LAUSD are bunch communists...

The absolute best time in life; exploring your inner youth and getting to know what you can do and what you need to learn I was there and Mr Francis was the best instructor for me and along with Mr McLeod made a impression on me to linger to this day Getting to turn 50 soon, you may ask yourself; how and why remember those times; well simply put "It was them two teachers whom personally gave me a sense of direction to better myself everyday in things that I don't have knowledge about, go seek them and learn if you will need them later on in life and if so now you got the knowledge and input to go forward............hope all the current students there learn and prosper..........Paul Stanley remembers the Good Things about Los Angeles High hopefully you will also from reading this.............Peace

The oldest public school in Southern California. Founded in 1873, the school has been at the Olympic and Rimpau celebrating 100 years in 2017. The school also houses the STEM MAGNET program which when you compare to other STEM programs test scores they excel. They have many programs at LA HIGH that werent available when I was student here. I am a proud Alumni of 1988 and I am proud to say my daughter is currently a student here at LA High also who will graduate in 2018. Many things have changed but their are many programs that are offered at LA. Looking at these reviews, I would say that you would have to check out the the school yourself, not all schools are for everyone. I definitely recommend their Magnet program.

This school has zero respect for students, the archers are so rude and if u get a teacher that cares you’re very lucky most classes are easy and if you’re in he magnet program you have a chance of actually challenging ourself this school has terrible counselors and terrible teachers I’m going to be a junior the new school year that comes but I’m barely taking health my counselor didn’t understand that I couldn’t take it as a credit recovery or summer school it’s not my fault she never gave it to me , also some teachers just hand out worksheets. There’s an English teacher who teaches sophomores and freshman you learn NOTHING!! All he makes you do is read books. One of the greometry teachers teach so fast and is quite rude when she’s asked a question, especially if you constantly ask. I mean maybe if she slowed down and cared enough to make the whole class get it, we wouldn’t ask so many questions. The school is a dump and it’s teeated terribly and the students there, most are rude and disrespectful.

The fact it's architecture looks like a prison, the school has been around for more than a century and yet the school spirit has died off. Please LAHS to recover
